From the Desk of Leslie Marlar, Nov. ’14
For those of you who are local, S.T.A.R. Guild meets on the 4th Tuesday of Nov., the 25th at 6 pm at the main library in Cocoa at 308 Forrest Ave. We will look at the meaning of Saturn leaving Scorpio and moving into Sagittarius. Saturn has been affecting Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus, & Leo. It will be affecting Sag, Pisces, Gemini, and Virgo. We’ll note the possibilities of this new position in us and in the world. Let’s also note any events we have had under the Oct 8th eclipse at 15 Aries and the Oct 23rd eclipse at 0 Scorpio. Aries is daring and enthusiastic. Scorpio is transformative and deadly. (I have an Aries friend who made her first base jump of a bridge.)
In the world, around the time of the 1st eclipse, we had fighting in Kobani, continuing Hong Kong protests, Ferguson protests, Thomas Duncan’s death, and Thomas Duncan’s nurse getting Ebola. At the second eclipse we had the running down of 2 Canadian soldiers , with one dying, by a lone wolf terrorist; the lone wolf killing of a Canadian soldier in Ottawa; the positive testing of a New York doctor for Ebola; the attack of two New York cops by a hatchet wielding lone wolf terrorist; the shooting of 6 students in Marysville Wa. with ensuing deaths; the shooting of 3 cops, 2 fatally, by a twice deported Mexican; and the explosion of the ISS supply rocket at launch.
We have really been through it. First we had the cardinal grand cross involving Mars, Pluto, Uranus and Jupiter from Dec ’13 to Mid July ’14. Then from late July until mid Sept. Mars joined Saturn in the deadly sign Scorpio and we had the first of the ISIS beheadings. Them Mars went to Sag from mid Sept to late Oct. where it joined the martial star Antares. Ebola, which had been raging in west Africa, came to us. From late Oct until the 2nd week of Dec., Mars is in Capricorn with Pluto. Hidden and insidious trouble is brewing. Let’s find it and fix it with confidence.
At the Guild we will also look at the results of the election. How appropriate that the Jupiter Saturn square is strong, showing society’s forces working against each other including Republicans and Democrats. Please see my piece on the election under Oct ’14 Star Guild Report on my site.
Despite all of this awfulness, let’s remember that every day is a gift, the world is beautiful, most people are good, and most days go pretty well.
Full Moon in Taurus later on the 5th, the 6th and most of the 8th brings a focus on finances and contrasts things like Easter and Halloween.
New Moon in Sagittarius on the 22nd and 23rd gives us an opportunity to make a new start in physical and mental activity. Let’s ride our bikes to the library.
I’ll be doing astrology mini readings at Book and Bead on Nov. 9 from 10 to 5.
