From the Desk of Leslie Marlar, February ’23

S.T.A.R. Guild met online on Skype on the 24th of Jan. and had a splendid time. Our junior group has graduated in that the junior and senior are both meeting now from 6 to 8 on the 4th Tuesday of the month. We started to address aspects from a meaningful as opposed to a mechanical perspective. We started by noting the signs of each element and each mode. Knowing these actually displays the main aspects. Next month we will revisit the essential meaning of the planets and signs by focusing on the gods of mythology who the planets are named for and the pictures of the constellations who the signs are named for.

Some events happened in January.

Pope Benedict the 16th died under an Aries Moon in his 2nd house. This opposed his Libra Moon in the 8th house, the house of death. The Greeks called the 2nd house the gate of death. He also has Mars in Gemini and Mars has been in Gemini since late August.

Damar Hamlin, football player for the Buffalo Bills died of cardiac arrest when taking a blow to the chest during a game. The heart sign Leo was rising and opposing Saturn and squaring Uranus and the Moon. He was revived and and the hope of his recovery prompted prayers and donations to his charity. Jupiter the good, religious, medical planet was on his Sun. He did recover and many were happy about that and the prayerful response of the country.

Kevin McCarthy was sworn in under a Full Moon in Cancer early in the morning of Jan. 7th. The U.S. chart has Venus, Jupiter, the Sun, and Mercury in Cancer, so this was an important lunation. And McCarthy’s Aquarius Sun is in our Moon sign.

On the 9th, with the Moon in Leo, classified papers were found in the Pen Biden think tank. Others have been found since then. Mars is in Gemini from week 4 Aug. to week 4 of March. Paperwork would come under the rule of Gemini. Trump’s classified doc raid happened a little before this period.

One storm after another came through California early in January. A Full Moon in wet Cancer on the 6th probably had something to do with this.

On Jan. 18th under the college sign Sagittarius, it was noted that 17 high schools in Virginia had delayed news to students of their achieving academic awards. The delay kept this news of awards out of their applications for college.

On Jan 25th with the Moon in Pisces and then Aries, it was decided that Trump would be allowed back on Facebook. Aries is Trump’s 9th house, the house of public expression.

On the 26th, 5 cops of Memphis, were charged with the murder of Tyre Nichols. No birthday has been made public yet. The beating took place on Jan. 7th under a Full Moon in Cancer. Violent Mars in Gemini was in the angular, 10th house. Please note that Gemini is pictured as twins. One is playing a harp; the other is in skins with a club. In this event we can see the brutish nature of the angular Mars in Gemini. Our heart goes out to his mother.

This month Mercury is with Pluto in weeks 1 and 2, focusing us on extreme events. The aftermath of the Nichols killing is part of this.

Venus is with romantic Neptune for Valentine’s Day. But toward the end of the month Mars squares Neptune and actions can become unfocused.

The Sun in week 1 and 2 and Mercury in week 3 make us ingenious and maybe eccentric. The Sun in week 3 and Mercury at the end of the month are near serious Saturn; we may be working hard and also somber.

Venus at the end of the month is near good Jupiter and promotes happiness.

Full Moon in Leo on the 4th and 5th focuses on power but also love.

New Moon in Pisces 20th and 21st is a new start in our inner life.
