“Astrology Meets Rocket Science”, A Look at the Astrology of Starship Launches, 2025
by Leslie Marlar
I have been looking at the Astrology of Spacex Launches since 2014. I would set up the chart for a launch and see if the sky shows qualities of success. At some point I started contrasting the sky of a failed attempt at launch with the sky of a successful launch. The idea was that success is shown by trines and sextiles between planets and the predominance of Jupiter. Failure to launch would be shown by oppositions and squares and the predominance of Saturn and Mars. Activities of Pluto and Uranus were added to the naughty list due to my seeing their involvement.
To keep the project simple, I restricted my look to the aspects of the Ascendant, the Moon, and the Sun, with an occasional Midheaven. And I used the Ptolemaic aspects and the whole sign houses. I use a 4 degree orb for aspects, with noted exceptions for conjunctions of some key planets. Applying aspects seem to be more potent than separating aspects. Some of the details I have seen in my Spacex project are:
Sextiles, trines and conjunctions involving Jupiter are very good.
Squares, oppositions and conjunctions with Mars, Saturn, Pluto and Uranus are trouble.
Oppositions can be mitigated by a triangle, a body trine to and sextile to each side of the opposition.
For example, in ’25 from Sept. 8th through 11th 4 launch attempts failed because Saturn was on the Ascendant. On the 11th a second attempt 2 hours later with a new Ascendant two signs later, succeeded. The Moon was also making predominately good aspects.
The blowup of the June 28 ’15 Spacex in Florida happened with a Leo Ascendant square both the Moon and Saturn in Scorpio.
Grok would love it when launches would be delayed under the Moon in late Scorpio opposed Uranus in Taurus. The launch would go a bit later when the Ascendant was in Sagittarius.
Ultimately, I am looking at the predominance of harmony versus the predominance of discord. And it is important to have criteria, but sometimes an expanded view gives more insight. An early launch in Kwajalein on 8/2/08 went badly with the Moon at 1 Virgo, Saturn at 8 Virgo, and Mars at 19.5 Virgo. The eye sees trouble coming.
I have a huge data base of Spacex launches. It just so happened that Starship launches came along and the last 4 launches are a great example of what I am seeing in my Spacex project, which can be seen on my site.
I will show my analysis of the Starship attempted launches on 8/24/25 and 8/25/25 and contrast those with the success on 8/26/25. I will add the success on 10/13/25.
8/24/25. 6:30 pm. No. Ascendant 6.7 Aquarius conjunct Pluto (4.7 degree orb). Moon 22.5 Virgo.
Sun 2 Virgo square Uranus.
8/25/25. 6:30 pm. No. Ascendant 7.7 Aquarius trine Moon, trine Mars (11 minutes over orb).
Moon 4.7 Libra trine Ascendant, oppose Neptune, trine Uranus, to conjunct Mars (within 8 degrees).
Sun 3 Virgo square Uranus.
8/26/25. 6:30 pm. Yes. Ascendant 9 Aquarius trine Mars.
Moon 17 Libra past conjunct Mars, square Jupiter, & sextile Mercury.
Sun 4 Virgo square Uranus.
The attempt on the 24th shows no harmony. The attempt on the 25th shows some harmony with the Moon and the Ascendant aspects, But developing conjunctions of the Moon and Mars have shown failures in my Spacex launch attempts. On the 26th, the Ascendant trines Mars and the Moon is past Mars. An expanded view contrasting No Goes with Goes shows the Ascendant farther from Pluto and the Sun farther from the square with Uranus.
10/13/25. 6:23 pm. Yes. Ascendant 7.5 Aries.
Moon 23.5 Cancer conjunct Jupiter, past square Sun.
Sun 21 Libra past square Moon, square Jupiter.
The conjunction of the Moon with good Jupiter overrides all and it was a very successful launch.
