From the Desk of Leslie, August ’17

For those of you who are local, S.T.A.R. Guild Astrology study group meets August 22nd at 6 pm at the library in Cocoa at 308 Forrest Ave. We will report on what the Aug 21st eclipse is bringing us and the world. Last month we generated ideas on what the eclipse might bring. In Aug. we can also play with astrocartography and at look at our charts using solar houses.

This past month some interesting events happened. For most of the month the cardinal, conflicted grand cross including troublesome Mars was in effect. We expect conflict between leaders and this nicely describes the reported chaos in the White House.

With the Moon in Sagittarius on 7/5, a picture that may be Amelia Earhart with the Japanese was shown in the papers. She has 4 planets in Gemini, the opposite sign of Sagittarius.
With the Moon still in Sag on 7/6 but moving to the Capricorn full Moon we had the G20 summit and riots.
Under the Full Moon Trump and Putin met at the G20.
On July 10th, Trump Jr. was noted as having a meeting with a Russian lawyer. The Moon was in Aquarius but not too far past the full Moon.
On July 20th with the Moon in Gemini, O.J. Simpson was paroled. He has Mars in Gemini, which can be translated litterally as double murders.
On the 21st, a day before the New Moon in Leo, Scaramucci is in and Spicer is out.
Under the Leo New Moon on 7/24, the sign of children, the Charlie Gard case ended and he died 4 days later.
Early morning of the 28th, McCain, whose Moon squares Uranus, surprised all by voting with Democrats and killing the Senate “skinny” repeal of Ocare. Saturn is connecting with his mutable T square including his natal Saturn. Transiting Saturn and Jupiter are moving from important places in his chart to less important places. This can show diminished activity.
Next month Mars forms a harmonious grand trine in contrast to last month’s tense grand cross.
Also Mercury is retrograde from the 12th. So, we should slow down and focus. We’ll probably see news of those who don’t.
The big news is two eclipses in Aquarius and Leo. An eclipse happens at a certain time on a particular day. I like to look at the entire time the Moon is in the sign of the eclipse. In addition to that we should remember that eclipses seem to have power beyond these dates, before and after. Think about the circular perspective in the movie, Arrival.
If you know your chart, expect events in the houses taken up by Aquarius and Leo. Any planets there are stimulated. The Lunar Full Moon Eclipse in Aquarius will be on the 6th, 7th, and much of the 8th. The Solar Eclipse New Moon in Leo is on the afternoon of the 19th, the 20th, and much of the 21st. In the sky Mars is near it. Mars is conflict and energy, building up and tearing down. Note that the President in his own chart has Leo rising with Mars and royal Regulus nearby. In both eclipses things and people are coming to him and it is very Martial. This is already happening with th coming in of Scaramucci and General Kelly.
Under eclipses we should do something special but not risky. New Moons are new starts. Full Moons show fullness in time.
