| Welcome
to Leslie Marlar’s little corner of the noosphere (no ah sphere).
If you are not familiar with this term, it refers to the mental
life of the planet as opposed to the biological life of the planet,
the bioshpere. One of the most well known people to use the term
was Pierre Teillard de Chardin, the Jesuit philosopher and paleontologist.
He was very cool. In “The Divine Milieu” he notes his great love
for earth by saying that “during every moment that I have
lived, the world has gradually been taking on light and fire for
me, until it has come to enveloped me in one mass of luminosity…”
He was especially fond of very durable expressions of earth like
iron. Mars, which equals iron, is at the very top of his chart.
He looks up to iron. If you look at his birth chart you’ll find
Saturn, Jupiter, the Sun, Neptune, Venus, Pluto, and Uranus in
earth signs. This is planetary way of saying that earth stimulated
in him: responsibility, optimism, delight, mysticism, love, cooperation,
and fascination.
This is a little example of astro-biography,
the main topic of this site. We’ll look at the biographical data
of well known and accomplished people and note the details of
their horoscopes. This is being done to share with you my remarkable
discovery, along with other astrologers, that there is some very
real useful and rather mystifying substance to astrology. If you
look, you’ll find additional astrology articles and some talk
about things of interest in the sky or recent world events and
their connection to sky events. This is a place to read about
interesting people and events and heavenly things. |

I had a wonderful class on Earth Day. It was also a New Moon in Taurus. The idea was to make new starts that would bring more Taurus-like things, like spring, into our lives. Before the class my friend and I were looking ....[more..]
