July ’18 Newsletter

From the Desk of Leslie Marlar, July ’18

For those of you who are local. S.T.A.R. Guild Astrology study group meets on Tuesday, July 24th at 6 pm at the central library at 308 Forrest Ave in Cocoa. We will focus on topical issues. The past 2 months we looked at the Part of Fortune and Jupiter in our charts. My conclusion is that Jupiter performed well according to members’ testimony and that the Part did not do as well.

This past month we had many events. Kiluea continued to erupt. The initial activity coincided with the planet Uranus changing sign from a fire sign to an earth sign. Fire and earth sounds like a volcano which I mention late last December as I looked at this planetary change. This is documented on my site and in the most recent AFA Journal, Volume 80. Saturn continues in Capricorn. Saturn is a big deal and Capricorn is associated with all things that are elevated, from the government to summits, to mountains. We have had important Supreme Court judgments this month, a summit, and news of another summit. Depression comes under serious Saturn and we have had two famous suicides this past month, Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain.
Family separation at the border came into our consciousness this past month. In June Venus, then Mercury, then the Sun were in Cancer, the family sign. Saunders was asked to leave a restaurant with the Moon in civil sign, Libra. Mars squaring Jupiter breaks rules and causes trouble and can factor in to events of that nature, like the newsroom shooting in Annapolis and a robbery of our own local famous ice cream stop. The newsroom shooting also had an elevated Mercury, the Sun opposing Saturn, and the Full Moon between Saturn and Pluto. The ice cream shop armed robbery had a T square between Mercury, the Moon, and Pluto and the Ascendant. Cold Saturn in cold Capricorn was rising. And the MC was with Jupiter and squaring Mars. The sign Cancer is very important in the U.S. Chart and the IG report came out the day the Moon was in Cancer.
Journalist Charles Krauthammer died. If you are interested, see my piece on him on my site. He had Mercury and the Sun in Pisces oppose Saturn in Virgo and square Chiron in Sagittarius. He was injured and restricted physically. He had high standards. And he was smart and worked hard. The above describes this.

In July, Jupiter still trines Neptune and can make dreams come true. Saturn and Pluto continue for a long time in Capricorn and bring heavy duty events. Uranus is still early in Taurus making us wonder if changes brought about by its sign shift will continue. It trines Saturn and may bring some resolution of serious issues. But Uranus squaring Mars after mid-month is a trouble maker. The square of Mars and Jupiter weakens and may bring less conflict and unruly behavior.
Mercury goes retrograde on the 26th, so, we should improve focus to counteract this influence.
A New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer on the afternoon of the 11, the 12th, and morning of the 13th requires sensible behavior but is also a nice time to do something special. It can be a new start in home and family matters. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius on the 27th, the 28th, and much of the 29th contrasts personal power versus group power. Special but sensible events are beneficial.

I’ll be at Book & Bead on Saturday the 21st of July doing Astrology mini readings.
