Newsletter Dec. ’13

From the desk of Leslie Marlar, Dec. ’13

For those of you who are local, S.T.A.R. Guild will not meet this month. We’ll have our Christmas party instead. Members will be informed of the details.

In the past month, natural disasters have dominated the news along with the implementation of Obamacare.

The Philippines typhoon hit with Saturn in Scorpio rising. Saturn is noted to be the planet of the worst things and Scorpio is associated with death.

The F4 tornado in Washington Ill. had Saturn in Scorpio at the Midheaven, the top of the chart. Here two natural destructive events have Saturn at an angle, an important place.

In reference to Obamacare and related topics, the chart for the signing of the health care bill is conflicted. The main feature of the chart is planets in powerful and active places in conflict. Mars is going to be in Libra from Dec 7 until August and will be affecting these positions. This shows even more difficulty. Looking at the president, Saturn is still squaring his Sun. This takes away power. Also, the conflicted square between the Moon and Mars in his 2nd inaugural chart is demonstrating itself in difficult events for his administration.

On a lighter note, the rocket, Maven, took off for Mars on Nov. 18th at a time when Mars was in the 7th house, the part of the sky associated with destinations.

Finally, we noted the anniversary of the death of John Kennedy. The day he was shot, the Moon was with the mournful planet, Saturn. Both were in Aquarius, the global sign. At the time of his shooting and death, they were rising or highlighted.

Let’s talk Mars. This planet is noted for its energy, building, and trouble. Rome and its army loved Mars. While it is in Libra (Dec. 7 to August) for a longer than usual time, it has more time to build, energize, or work mischief. We really need to do the following: manage stress, manage conflict, exercise, and find constructive things to do with the energy. Because it will tie into other planets, Uranus, Pluto, & Jupiter in tense ways, we have to do things on good days. I note these each month in this piece and my sun sign column on my web site. My site is changing form and should be ready soon.

Good days in Dec. 1, pm 9, 13, 14, 19, 22, 23, 24, 27, & 28. If your looking at starting something really important, call or email me. Not every good day is good for all things.

New Moon in Sagittarius happens on the 2nd and 3rd. We can make a new start in our mental and physical life. Full Moon in Gemini on the 15th, 16th, and morning of the 17th contrasts science and religion, facts and opinion, data and conclusions, perception and judgment.

I’ll be doing mini readings at Book and Bead on Dec 1st from 11 to 3 in Merritt Island. I’ll be talking about 2014 at noon at Aquarian Dreams in Indialantic.
